Insurance Regulation
This 14-assignment course is recommended for people in the insurance
business who are interested in regulation or who deal with regulation
or regulators. It might also be useful for insurance regulators who want
to learn more about the entire system of insurance regulation.
The course provides an overview of insurance regulation, including the
roles of state insurance departments, the National Association of Insurance
Commissioners, state legislatures, the legal system, Congress and federal
agencies, consumers, the insurance industry, and the media. It covers
the theory of regulation; the history of regulation in the United States;
and how state insurance departments regulate the operations and activities
of insurance companies, agents and brokers.
Successful completers earn a Certificate of Completion and credit for
the related Studies requirement of the CPCU program.
