DESIGNATIONS
This section lists the insurance professional designations available, profiles them, and shows how and where you can fulfill the requirements to obtain the designation itself.

Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance (AIAF)

Concentrating on the financial operations of insurance companies, this four-course program offers an opportunity to master statutory accounting principles, reporting procedures, and financial management concepts. Students who complete this program should be able to perform or supervise the accounting required of insurance companies and to contribute significantly to financial decisions. Completers earn the AIAF designation.

The program is recommended for technical accounting statistical, and financial personnel of insurance companies. Although there are no formal prerequisites, the program resumes prior exposure to general accounting principles and a working knowledge of insurance principles and coverages. We strongly recommend that students without experience in insurance complete the IIA Program in General Insurance (described on the second page) before beginning AIAF.

The Insurance Institute of America and the Life Office Management Association jointly sponsor an alternative program designed for people in the life and health fields. For information about this option, call the office of the registrar at LOMA at (770) 984-3761 or (800) ASK-LOMA.
